Is pole dancing a good workout?

Yes, pole dancing is a fantastic workout! It combines strength training, flexibility exercises, and cardiovascular activity, providing a full-body workout.

Do I need prior dance or fitness experience to start pole dancing?

You don’t need any prior dance or fitness experience to start pole dancing. Pole dancing is inclusive and welcomes beginners of all backgrounds. Just come as you are, and we’ll guide you on your empowering pole journey.

What should I wear to a pole dancing class?

We recommend wearing shorts and a tank top or sports bra for a better grip on the pole. Above all, it’s essential to wear what you’re comfortable in, but remember that more coverage might influence your grip during certain moves. We support whatever choice you make!

Will I be required to wear heels?

Although we offer some styles of pole dancing that incorporate heels, a majority of our classes, particularly for beginners, are conducted barefoot. Even for our Pole N’ Heels and our Burlesque Heels classes, heels are optional.

Can men participate in pole dancing classes?

Absolutely! Pole dancing is for everyone, regardless of gender. Work It has ALWAYS welcomed people of all gender identities.

Is there a weight limit for pole dancing?

Professional pole equipment can support a significant amount of weight, and people of all body types can enjoy pole dancing.

How often should I attend classes to see progress?

Like any skill or form of exercise, the more frequently you practice, the quicker you’ll see progress. Many students attend classes 2-3 times a week, but it’s up to individual schedules and goals.

Is pole dancing only for young people?

Pole dancing is for all ages! Many International Pole Dancing competitions boast a 50 years+ category. Consequently, it’s less about age and more about fitness, gaining flexibility, and personal comfort.

Is pole dancing appropriate for kids or teens?

Instructors around the world teach pole dancing classes focusing on the athletic and acrobatic aspects, without any sensual elements, to students of all ages. At Work It, we offer both athletic style and sensual style pole classes for adults. If you would like your pre-teen or teenager to accompany you in class, contact us for details.

Will pole dancing help me lose weight?

Pole dancing, like any regular physical activity, can contribute to weight loss when combined with a balanced diet and other healthy lifestyle choices.

Are there different styles or types of pole dancing?
