Upcoming Veil Workshop at WIDF

Greetings Dance World!

This Sunday, January 30th from 3:30-5PM, Tava will be teaching an Open-Level Workshop:  Bellydance with Veil at Work It Dance and Fitness.   This is open to anyone who is either new to dancing with a veil or has experience but is looking to add some new life to their technique.   Participants will learn a brief history about the use of veil in Middle Eastern (belly) dance, compare different fabrics, learn how to use a veil for framing the body to create beautiful lines, and positions for turns.   The cost of the workshop is $30 and you must pre-register so Tava knows how many veils to bring (please bring your own if you have one).   You may register for this workshop, by clicking on the workshop tab at our online registration site: https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ASP/adm/home.asp?studioid=11404  Space is limited so don’t miss out!

For a little taste of bellydancing with veil, Tava can be seen here in this youtube clip from a performance last week.  The short veil segment is to a song called Bir Demet which is  a Traditional Turkish song about a lost love.  Footage is a bit dark, but the veil shines.
